I'm Erik Breon, a freelance photographer based in Central Oregon

Award-winning work recognized by Nikon USA, Landscape Magazine, the Western Fairs Association, the Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs and multiple publications

Before photography became my primary focus, I spent more than 25 years in television news, working as a photographer, editor, producer, executive producer and news director. That work took me into communities, into breaking news and into stories that unfolded in real time. I enjoyed the writing and editorial side of journalism, but I was always most drawn to the visuals—strong video, thoughtful graphics and well-made photographs. Over the years, I realized that noticing people, places and small details was what kept me coming back. Photography eventually became the natural place for that curiosity to go.
Whether I’m photographing landscapes, people or events, I care about genuine expressions and real moments—images that don’t feel staged or overthought. Current work includes serving as photographer for Deschutes County and documenting people, projects and events across the region. I also take on commissioned assignments for organizations, businesses, families and individuals, ranging from portraits and events to brand and documentary projects. The goal is always the same: make images that feel grounded, useful and honest. If you have an idea or project in mind, I’m always open to talking about it and seeing what’s possible.
